Vision of Advanced Practice
Nursing, and more recently AHPS, have over the last few decades taken on greater more complex and autonomous roles and responsibilities due to both workforce changes, as well as significant increase in complexity of the patient’s health care needs. Advanced practice offers advanced clinical development, leadership and research through transformation and innovation.
It is in more recent years that professional bodies are looking for both further evidence, and greater insight and research to both collaborate and celebrate the growth of advanced practice. This I see as a fantastic opportunity within the changing culture and complex health care systems to offer health care users and health care systems a vision and scope of practice that embraces these decades of change and is robust for the many more practitioners in future years.
