Consultant Nurse
I have been working in advanced practice roles since 2003 and was part of the working group for the Multidisciplinary Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England and subsequently the National Framework for Enhanced, Advanced and Consultant Practice in Wales.
I have worked across several teams including Emergency care, acute medicine, acute stroke, rehabilitation/community hospital, out of hours care and urgent community care so have a broad understanding of where roles work well.
I have an MSc in both advanced practice and healthcare leadership and post-graduate certificates in education and prescribing.
A single competency framework that allows transferability of skills across organisational and regional boundaries, regardless of professional background.
A useable portfolio that is transferable across the same boundaries that acknowledges the high level skills, creating a working environment where other clinicians may understand the role regardless of where they experience it.
Legislation that incorporates all practitioners, allowing them to deliver care equitably and safely.
